The Ranks of Overwatch


OWS

» ECHO: The first, basic rank at which all units are assigned.
           These units specialize in nothing. They're equipped with only the essentials. Pulse Rifles, Grenades,
           and a radio. After you've been promoted from Echo, you may either stay with it, or move onto a specialization.

» SGU: SGU, also known as Shotgun Units, are Overwatch Units that specialize in close-range shooting. They're equipped with heavy armor along with a SPAS 12 shotgun capable of firing heavy lead slugs at their targets.


» COBALT: COBALT units specialize in long-range weapons such as Sniper Rifles and Crossbows. They're usually positioned at a distance, waiting to strike when the enemy comes close.

» DELTA: Delta units specialize in scouting. They are equipped with light gear and sent out to
locate and report on possible enemy target sites.

» EOWS: The commanding rank of Overwatch. Very few units are given this position, as it is only handed out to a select few who are able to carry out orders. EOWS are given custom identified tags rather than a standard specialty tag. (Ex: MIDNIGHT, SUNDOWN, etc.)

‌• As an Overwatch unit, you're heavily brainwashed, and composed mostly of mechanical computer-based input devices.
You have no feelings, no decisions for yourself. You follow protocol strictly, and do what you need to do to carry out that protocol.


‌• You are a separate spectrum from the Metropolice Force. You do not need to follow orders from any Civil Protection unit other than the Sectorial. Although you can assist commanding units during a Judgement Waiver if they request you, although that is completely optional.

‌‌• You need to speak in Overwatch format. Here are some examples.

"CODE RED; MY 10-20"
"ERROR; REQUESTING COMMAND INPUT;"
"UNIT IS RETURNING TO STASIS;"


• You may only load your Overwatch Transhuman Arm character during an active Judgement or Autonomous Waiver.



• While your ranking may be higher than the Metropolice Force, you may not break Union Protocol under any circumstances.



• It is not your job to enforce Civilized Society. You simply fight to preserve it.
This means that you do not detain or warn citizens. You only deal with Anti-Citizen activity, and eradicating it.


• In addition to the above rule, you may not make citizens apply. If you've got Anti-Citizens at gunpoint who don't need to be amputated on sight, radio in for a Metropolice Force unit to arrive and detain them.

Crossbows are Resistance manufactured. Why the hell would the Overwatch use it?

I have gotten an answer from the all powerful Sheeplie himself. When you prove yourself that you can handle your shit. You get selected IC but get a choice of divisions OOCly.
