A suggestion- since there is no where to put this?
I believe a new program should be added to a the CPF. 'MATT' Martial Arts Technological Training. This includes any, and all martial arts. (Kendo, Muai-tai, Tae-Kwon-Doe). I mean, the Combine took over the world in 7 hours. They could atleast train their people to use actually EFFICIENT hand-to-hand tactics. IF A unit decides to join this program, they are given the main bladed weapon of their Martial Art (Knife-sized.) to use instead of a Synthetic blade. The various blades I'm speaking of are the: Karambit, Tanto, Balisong, Kiridashi, Seax, Kukri, Kris, Kirpan, Athame, Kilaya, Sgian Dubh, you get the idea. This means Units no longer need to rely on their firearms in a fight, and it teaches them proper discipline past totalitarianism.
They would also get a minor upgrade in their ranking- of course, depending on how well they progress through MATT.

As cool of an Idea this is. I rather disagree. Mostly the blades part. And it being an entire program. It should be part of standard training. Not an entire thing.

Why the blades? It's only logical that their weapons are from their own martial arts. Sorry if I'm making too much of a fuss about it. And why should it be part of standard training? It only shows more finesse for Units in their fighting styles.

Maybe not for all units of all divisions. Maybe for certain divisions such as UNION and such, Divisions that don't need to be so combat savvy. And the blades just wouldn't fit. Also, they aren't locked so its easy to steal and use it against the unit. So basically swords and blades aren't as efficient as fire-arms are as they are ranged and bio-locked.

Their stunstick should be used as a Baton. I'm gonna start training them in martial arts similar to Krav Maga with batons.
Whenever somebody comes at you with a knife, just touch it with your stunstick and they will get shocked.

That's a good point Wheatley, and to Duspende, even Krav Maga has it's downsides. Allowing unit's to pick which one they train in gives them a huge advantage, something THEY get to do, not have chosen for them- perhaps it could even be used for minor rank enhancement.

Can't wait for every unit to run around doing roundhouse kicks...

Something like this could be possible in City 8.

Even in other Cities, Sheeplie. Unit's don't necessarily need to use their martial-art in combat- but it's a good thing to KNOW if you need it.

Yeah, yeah, but what if Tokyo had it's own version of overwatch?
Re: A suggestion- since there is no where to put this?
Well according to TnB lore, City 8 and the pacific has their own OTA who wear black armor/navy armor.Sheeplie wrote:Yeah, yeah, but what if Tokyo had it's own version of overwatch?
But I don't know if that's a good idea, really.

It makes sense. Each division/squadron of the Overwatch has there own specific color based upon the kind of environ their operating in. Ours should be Urban Camo. Lol.

US/Western Hemisphere has Woodland Camo, Germany Flektarn, Pacific dark navy, Russia/Ukraine/Eastern-block states urban camo/winter camo. Et-cetera.
