APPLICATION: Metropolice Force

Steam Name: cherryapplejack

Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198021835234/

Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:30784753

1. How long have you been a part of Vortex Roleplay?
I have been with Vortex Roleplay for 56 days, today being the 56th.

2. What would you generalize to be your total playtime on Vortex?
Not sure, I have been inactive for the past week, maybe a little more. I would say 100-200 hours.

3. How long have you been roleplaying in general?
Serious roleplay, not much longer than I have been with Vortex, besides Black Mesa Roleplay. However, I have around 600 hours for Divinity's DarkRP if that counts.

4. Do you consider yourself to be efficient at roleplaying?
I consider myself efficient enough. I use /me's effectively and when needed. I develop my character, and try my utmost best to improve when I see a mistake I have made, or when another appoints a mistake I have made.

3. Why do you want to be a part of our Metropolice Force?
I am already a part of it, I am re-applying for the Improvement Project. However, I wish to continue my role as being apart of the Metropolice Force because not only do I wish for personal purposes, but to improve the community as well. The community needs proper roleplaying players, and to minimize minging. I believe I am competent during roleplay. I do not minge, and if I do, it is unintended and/or a mistake (Besides a couple of OOC jokes, but I promise I will not continue in this manner).

4. Have you read all of the Informative Guidelines?
These are the tips at the top of the application.
I have read every point and bullet of the Informative Guidelines, as well as the Metropolice Force Guide.

5. What have you learned from the application guidelines?
I haven't really learned much what I haven't already known: Do not argue, keep a positive attitude, use proper grammar and punctuation, and so forth.

6. There are a total of ___ informative guidelines.
19 bullet-points and 1 side note.

7. Did you read and study the Metropolice Force Guide?
As stated above, I have read the Metropolice Force guide in-depth. I will continue to study it and try at my utmost potential to memorize all of the radio codes, so I am not referring to the guide while in-game.

8. What does 10-4 mean?
10-4 is a radio code that means 'okay'.

9. What does 11-22a mean?
11-22 is another radio code that refers to light contraband.

10. List the weapons you'd be allowed to checkout at the following rank: 03, Second Tier.
A Tier Two, rank 03, is allowed to check out the following:
A USP Match, MP7 submachine gun, M67 smoke grenade, and a C89 flash grenade.

11. Give an example of a moderate contraband item.
A moderate contraband item includes but is not limited to:
-Basic Weapons (Blunt/sharp weaponry such as clubs or knives, light firearms such as a pistol)
-Resistance Gear (Resistance clothing, radios, etc.)

12. What is the level of crime for having possession of a moderate contraband item?
What would the punishment be for that level of crime?
Possessing any sort of moderate contraband item would result in a level three violation. Level three violations are usually treated with 2-3 cycles in detainment, and 4-6 penalty points.

13. How does the standard breach and clear protocol work?
Pointman one and pointman two line up on the right side of the door, and the breacher on the left. The team leader would stand behind the breacher (Not in front of the door like the picture shows, that is a bad mistake). The team leader will call the stack, prep, and inject commands. When he calls stack, the breach squad will get in their positions around the door to be breached. When the team leader calls prep, the squad will brace themselves, and anything else that needs to be done before they enter, such as checking to see if their gun is loaded. When he calls the inject command, the breacher will kick the door, or shoot the lock. Pointman two will enter first, sweeping the right side of the room(s). Pointman one will enter after pointman two, sweeping the left side of the room(s). The breacher does not need enter unless a secondary breach is required, and it is optional whether or not the team leader enters.

14. What districts/areas are you allowed to enter at all times?
Districts 1-5 are not restricted to units unless high command specifically commands not to enter said district(s).

15. What districts/areas are you only allowed to enter under certain circumstances? List the circumstances for each area.
-District six is always off-limits to units, unless stated otherwise by a high-commanding unit.
-District seven is off-limits, unless the City Administrator decides to open it for the citizens, in which units are also allowed to enter.
-The Grotto is off-limits unless needed for investigation, or if a high-commanding unit states otherwise.

16. Which districts/areas are you never allowed to enter, period?
District six is always off-limits; the only exception is if a high-commanding unit states otherwise.

17. At what rank are you allowed to leave the Nexus?
Tier 1, rank 05 or above.

18. What action do you take in the following situation:
You happen to be in the plaza, and an armed citizen is firing a pulse-rifle everywhere. Citizens are screaming, a few officers are down, and the situation isn't looking good.
I would request backup if possible, although I'm sure the units would already know about it. If not, I would immediately begin firing at the anti-citizen in an attempt to amputate him/her. If I or another unit is able to disarm the citizen long enough (I doubt it would happen), then taking the anti-citizen in for interrogation is optional. Either way, the citizen would be amputated.

19. Explain the ten step process of properly detaining someone. It's on the guide.
Do not copy and paste.
Step 1: Spot said suspect(s), and move to their location.
Step 2: Order them to face the nearest wall. Malcompliance may be treated with use of a firearm (non-lethally) and/or brute force. Radioing for backup is an option for treating malcompliance.
Step 3: Attempt to tie them, and ask OOCly whether or not they resist. (Citizens cannot resist to heavily augmented units such as Overwatch Soldiers)
Step 4: Order them to apply, and search for their profile in the database with the viewdata command.
Step 5: If they are an anticitizen, call for backup. If backup is unneeded, or unavailable, I can easily handle the situation myself, as they are tied and unable to resist. If they are not an anticitizen, I will proceed to step 6.
Step 6: Decide what punishment is needed according to protocol.
Step 7: If they are to be detained, knock them out and transport them to a detainment cell and stay with them for the entire duration of their detainment period.
Step 8: Once their cycle(s) are over, I will order them to face the wall. Once again, malcompliance may be treated as seen necessary.
Step 9: I will knock the citizen unconscious so I am able to transport them from the Nexus.
Step 10: I will drag them to a relatively remote area, untie them and set them free.

20. How does division ranking advancement work?
You start as a recruit. After training, you may choose your division in which you will become a tier 1, rank 05. You will proceed through ranks 04, 03, 02, and 01 of tier 1. Once you are promoted again, you have the options of either becoming a tier 1 officer (OfC) in which only tier 1 commander (CmD) follows, or proceeding to tier two, rank 05. There is one officer and one commander for each tier. There is only one divisional leader (DvL) for each division.

21. At which rank are you allowed to authorize Judgement Waivers?
A tier one officer and higher ranking units may authorize a judgement waiver. This includes tier one officer, tier one commander, tier two 05, and any higher ranking units.

22. Which of the following situations would require a Judgement Waiver? Mark [Yes] or [No] next to each situation.

• A Metropolice Unit or City Administrator is murdered by a rogue unit or anti-citizen: [Yes]
• An anti-citizen fires a weapon anywhere within the city: [Yes]
• Unarmed Anti-Citizens are sighted or reported: [No]
• An uprising, or other form of rebel propaganda takes place: [Yes]
• A Metropolice Unit is assaulted WITHOUT a firearm: [No]

23. What rank are you allowed to use a pistol at?
Tier one 04, or any higher ranking unit.

24. What happens if you use a pistol before this rank?
If you use a pistol (or any firearm, really) before tier 1 rank 04, you will receive two blackmarks.

25. Do you understand how to use our Advanced Viewdata?
Having used it countless times before, I understand every function of the viewdata command.

26. What happens if you go rogue and get caught?
Getting caught and/or killed after going rogue will result in a permanent death for that character, and a whitelist removal for that player.

27. Do you understand not to argue with other players?
I completely understand you mustn't argue with others, however it can be difficult to avoid sometimes. I try my best to prevent arguments, and if they do happen, I try to end them quickly and/or contact a staff member as stated below.

28. What should you do if you find yourself in a disagreement with other players?
The first thing I would do is try to end it by coming to a quick compromise or conclusion. If that does not work, my only option is to contact a staff member.

29. What are your past experiences in the Metropolice Force?
My only past experiences of the Metropolice Force are the ones I've had on this server, as this is my re-application. I have a tier one, rank 02 of the UNION division.

30. Why should we accept your application?
I believe you should accept my (re)application because I feel that I have been quite competent while roleplaying and have kept mistakes and/or arguments to a minimum on my part.

31. Why should we accept your application over other player's applications?
You shouldn't, all players are equal and deserve an equal chance. However, this is my re-application, and as stated above, I believe I have shown enough potential and deserve to be accepted back into the Metropolice Force.

32. What happens if you do not stay in-character, or try to mess-around and simply void it afterwards?
Doing this will result an immediate whitelist removal with no hesitation. That is why it is important to try your best never to mess around OOCly, it is immature and unprofessional.

33. Do you tend to complain a lot?
I complain, yes. However, I try to keep it to a minimum. Usually I do not complain about roleplay related things, I complain about other things, but only once in a while.

34. Do you have any close friends who play on the server, that could recommend you?
I do not have any close friends who play on this server.

35. Can you passively roleplay, using detailed actions?
Passive roleplay is always a good option to pass time when there is no action. I can passive roleplay with detailed actions and /me's, and develop my character as well.

36. Do you have a basic knowledge and understanding of Half-Life 2 lore?
I feel that I have a very good understanding of most of the Half-Life series' lore, some points more than others.

37. How active are you on the server?
Recently I have been inactive. This is due to becoming bored of Garry's Mod, and the constant lag of the server. Other than that, I have been very active on the server while I am available.

38. How well can you follow instructions?
I follow instructions as well as I can, and try to keep questions and/or objections to a minimum.

39. Do you plan on being a loyal player?
I have been a loyal player this entire time, besides the past week or two that I have been inactive. Of course I will stay loyal to the server/community, so long as it tends to my basic needs.

- Give an example of your own personal passive roleplaying using the /me command.
Note: Give an example that represents the level of detail you use on average. For example, don't type a paragraph for walking across a floor unless you actually plan to use that amount of detail in game.

In this example I will try to make it as accurate as it would be in my own passive roleplay. I will be representing my character Marcus 'Mark' Wilder, CWU worker and owner of the snack shop. I will use John Smith as an example citizen. John Smith's actions and quotes do not represent me or my roleplaying ability in any way, and only act as a substitute for a citizen. My average roleplaying ability used in the server are represented by Marcus 'Mark' Wilder's actions and quotes only, used in this example.

** John Smith walks up to the counter, his hands in his pocket.
Marcus 'Mark' Wilder says "Hello, sir. May I help you?"
John Smith says "I would, um... I would like a Coca-Cola, please."
Marcus 'Mark' Wilder says "Coca-Cola... that will be 8 tokens."
** John Smith digs in his pocket, throwing the tokens on the counter.
** Marcus 'Mark' Wilder picks them up, walking to the fridge. "Thank you."
** Marcus 'Mark' Wilder walks back, putting a bottle on the counter.
John Smith says "Thanks."
Marcus 'Mark' Wilder says "Mhm."
** John Smith walks away as an audible fizz is heard as he opens the bottle of soda.
** Marcus 'Mark' Wilder writes something in his notepad as he watches the citizen.

NOTE: The following information is the same information as used in my previous Metropolice Force application. It is not plagiarism of any kind and/or thievery. Any errors or lore-breaking information included in the backstory will remain untouched.

CHARACTER INFORMATION:

Name: Jack Gretina
Age: 34
Gender: M
Height: 5' 11"
Status (Loyalist, Civil Worker's Union, or Citizen?): Citizen
Loyalist Points [N/A if None]: N/A

Mother's Full Name: Stephanie Rivera

Father's Full Name: Joel Gretina

Previous locations of residence before City Seventeen: City 18 and City 48.

Character Backstory: Hi, my name's Jack. Jack Gretina, that is. Before the "incident," I lived in a small, rural town with a small population. It only had 1 grocery store, a bar, a gunshop, a bank and whatnot. I lived with my dad, as my mom lived across the street, because they couldn't stand living with eachother without arguing every night. I first grew up with my mom for the first 14 years of my life, until my father gained legal custody over me. I also had a sister, who was born when I was only 11. The constant fighting between them was tough, but I got over it with time. This is my backstory however, and not their's. The only grocery store in town got shut down, I guess because they weren't getting enough business. So we had to drive to the nearest town just to get some food. We weren't rich, I had a computer and a game console, but we lived in a trailer. I'm getting off topic again, aren't I? Well, nonetheless, I grew quite accustomed to being alone, as it happened often in a small town like I lived in. I was rather lazy with schoolwork and exercise, despite the conditions of my life. Fast forward a bit, and there is the combine invasion.

1998. Not far away from my old town I grew up in, maybe 50 miles away or so. I getting by in an apartment as a clerk and "meat guy," as I was called often, at the local grocery store. About mid-year, was when the "Combine" came. At first it was just stories on the news, about some "portal" opening up not far from our solar system, spotted by some star-researcher guys. I would have took it as the normal news shenanigans and false sightings, but this one was different. I could feel it inside me, like a darkness building up, fate, just waiting to swallow me whole. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't bring myself to work either. I just glued myself to the TV day and night, waiting for the news to come up, wondering what it held next.

3 days later. The news told of some UFOs, closer to our solar system than the portal was. What showed on the television just looked like some stars, but they were moving across the sky. Not like shooting stars, but like living objects, or machines. I feel it again, the darkness inside me, just building up. I wanted to turn off the TV, but I was glued to my seat, frozen in fear.

7 days after the first spotting. I woke up from what little sleep I had to blaring sirens. Not warning sirens, like the ones during a tornado. Attack sirens. The kind that go off during an air raid, or nuclear attack. I was more scared than I had ever been in my entire life. My heart was racing, beating so loudly I was sure it was audible a mile away. I raced around my house, I figured I better pack up or something. I packed up some food and water, a couple sets of clothes, and finally... My .22 self defense pistol, in which I holstered in my coat. I got in my buick and sped through the country. No traffic jams, nice to live in the rural area. I didn't know where I was going, but I needed to go somewhere.

Long story short, after leaving my town I ran out of gas after driving about 50 miles and continued on foot, going nowhere. I saw ships in the sky, coming from everywhere. I hid in a cornfield and managed to survive for a few days with what I had packed. Eventually they found me. They were in numbers, and I was malnourished with only a petty .22 compared to their space weaponry and death machines. I decided to surrender now. I dropped what I had on the ground, and kneeled down. They tied me, beat me, put a bag over me and I was put into containment. The following morning, I saw... people. In their space-uniforms, like I have never seen in my life. It made me want to throw up, and I almost did, until I got  pushed forward as I continued to be escorted. I was shipped to the nearest containment camp until they had set up cities, in which I was first shipped to City 18.

2014. Being shipped to City 17. This is the life... If you can't beat them, join them. Better than living a life of fear.
