APPLICATION: MetroPolice Force

Steam Name: cherryapplejack

Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198021835234/

Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:30784753

1. How long have you been on the server?
Since yesterday.

2. Do you know how to properly roleplay?
Yes, although I could use a bit of improvement.

3. Why do you want to join the Metropolice Force?
I wish to join the MetroPolice Force because I have always wanted to, and I never got the chance to, either because I couldn't find a server I wanted to stick with long enough, or because I was just plain lazy. But this server sticks out amongst the others, and I feel I could be an addition to the community, especially as a MetroPolice Force unit.

4. Have you read all of the application guidelines?
Yes, I have read all of them.

5. What have you learned from the application guidelines?
I have learned the radio codes used for this server, the different divisions, their loadouts, further ranking information, the rules of being a MetroPolice Force officer, the blackmark system, and verdict judgement.

6. Did you read and study all of the Metropolice Force guides?
Yes, I have read, and have studied all of the MetroPolice Force guidelines.

7. Give an example of something that you learned from a Metropolice Force Guide.
When you reach the rank of 01 in the first tier of a division, you may proceed to an OfC of that tier, or proceed to rank 05 of the next tier.

8. What do you do in this situation. You walk into the plaza, and an armed citizen is firing a weapon everywhere. Citizens are screaming, and it isn't looking good.
I tell the citizen to drop his weapon, and if he does, I tell him to face a wall, or get on his knees should there be no walls around. When he does, I command him to apply, and check my standard issue datapad and put the required information for his ID into the system. Then I proceed by tying him (and asking if he resists in the /me),
knocking him out, and dragging him to detainment (unless he managed to murder another individual, in which he would be punished with amputation by a unit fit doing so), where I will stay there with him for his cycle(s).

9. Explain the ten step process of properly detaining someone. It's on the guide.
1) I move to the spotted criminal or criminals' location.
2) I ask him to face the nearest wall (or on their knees if there is no wall). If they do not comply, I may radio for backup or use brute force (stunstick).
3) I attempt to tie them, and ask OOCly if they resist. Example: /me attempts to tie the citizen's hands together. [Resist?]
4) Command them to apply, and view them on my datapad. I would also do a /me of this action.
5) If they're an anticitizen, I will call for backup with my radio. If not, I will continue to step 6.
6) Based on the crime done, and the verdict judgement guide, I would decide what kind of punishment they deserve.
7) If they need to be detained, I will knock them out and drag them to a cell, where I will supervise the citizen until his/her cycle(s) is over.
Cool Once their cycle(s) is over, I will order them to face the wall of the cell as I open the door.
9) I will knock them unconscious with my stunstick.
10) I will then drag his/her body to a public area within the city. Once they regain consciousness, I will untie them and continue on with my duties.

10. Did you read the Division Ranking Guide?
Yes, I have read all of it in depth.

11. Do you understand not to argue with other players?
I understand not to argue with other players.

12. What should you do if you find yourself in a disagreement with other players?
Simply agree with them if it is not a big deal, or try to come to some sort of compromise. Should the disagreement continue or get out of hand, I should contact a staff member of the server, and inform them of the situation at hand.

13. Past MPF experiences?
None at all, although I have heard of much and learned much from other HL2RPers.

14. Why should we accept your application?
I believe you should accept my application because I put a lot of work and thought into it, and I shall be a loyal player to the server. I have only been here for a day, but I really like this server so far, I can see myself being a loyal member of the community. Back on topic, I can be a good roleplayer, and should I make a mistake, I
quickly correct my mistake(s) once I realize what mistake(s) I have made.

15. Why should we accept your application over other player's applications?
I believe you should accept my application over other players' applications because I put quite the bit of work into it, as I stated above, and I could be a great member of the community regardless of my application's acceptance. I should be online farily often, almost every day, for a couple hours a day.

16. Do you tend to complain a lot?
No. I only tend to complain if something is just ridiculously ridiculous.

17. Do you have any close friends who play on the server, that could recommend you?
No, not that I know of. Perhaps one of my steam friends plays on this server, but other than that, I don't think so.

18. Can you passive roleplay, in detail?
Yes, I can passive roleplay in depth of detail.

19. Do you have a basic knowledge and understanding of Half-Life 2 lore?
Yes, I have quite the bit of knowledge of the events of the Half-Life series.

20. How active are you on the server?
I was on for at least a couple hours yesterday once I found the server, and I have been online for about an hour prior to writing this application.

21. Do you plan on being a loyal player?
Yes, I plan on being a loyal and active player so long as life does not get in the way.

Character Backstory: Hi, my name's Jack. Jack Gretina, that is. Before the "incident," I lived in a small, rural town with a small population. It only had 1 grocery store, a bar, a gunshop, a bank and whatnot. I lived with my dad, as my mom lived across the street, because they couldn't stand living with eachother without arguing every night. I first grew up with my mom for the first 14 years of my life, until my father gained legal custody over me. I also had a sister, who was born when I was only 11. The constant fighting between them was tough, but I got over it with time. This is my backstory however, and not their's. The only grocery store in town got shut down, I guess because they weren't getting enough business. So we had to drive to the nearest town just to get some food. We weren't rich, I had a computer and a game console, but we lived in a trailer. I'm getting off topic again, aren't I? Well, nonetheless, I grew quite accustomed to being alone, as it happened often in a small town like I lived in. I was rather lazy with schoolwork and exercise, despite the conditions of my life. Fast forward a bit, and there is the combine invasion.

1998. Not far away from my old town I grew up in, maybe 50 miles away or so. I getting by in an apartment as a clerk and "meat guy," as I was called often, at the local grocery store. About mid-year, was when the "Combine" came. At first it was just stories on the news, about some "portal" opening up not far from our solar system, spotted by some star-researcher guys. I would have took it as the normal news shenanigans and false sightings, but this one was different. I could feel it inside me, like a darkness building up, fate, just waiting to swallow me whole. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't bring myself to work either. I just glued myself to the TV day and night, waiting for the news to come up, wondering what it held next.

3 days later. The news told of some UFOs, closer to our solar system than the portal was. What showed on the television just looked like some stars, but they were moving across the sky. Not like shooting stars, but like living objects, or machines. I feel it again, the darkness inside me, just building up. I wanted to turn off the TV, but I was glued to my seat, frozen in fear.

7 days after the first spotting. I woke up from what little sleep I had to blaring sirens. Not warning sirens, like the ones during a tornado. Attack sirens. The kind that go off during an air raid, or nuclear attack. I was more scared than I had ever been in my entire life. My heart was racing, beating so loudly I was sure it was audible a mile away. I raced around my house, I figured I better pack up or something. I packed up some food and water, a couple sets of clothes, and finally... My .22 self defense pistol, in which I holstered in my coat. I got in my buick and sped through the country. No traffic jams, nice to live in the rural area. I didn't know where I was going, but I needed to go somewhere.

Long story short, after leaving my town I ran out of gas after driving about 50 miles and continued on foot, going nowhere. I saw ships in the sky, coming from everywhere. I hid in a cornfield and managed to survive for a few days with what I had packed. Eventually they found me. They were in numbers, and I was malnourished with only a petty .22 compared to their space weaponry and death machines. I decided to surrender now. I dropped what I had on the ground, and kneeled down. They tied me, beat me, put a bag over me and I was put into containment. The following morning, I saw... people. In their space-uniforms, like I have never seen in my life. It made me want to throw up, and I almost did, until I got  pushed forward as I continued to be escorted. I was shipped to the nearest containment camp until they had set up cities, in which I was first shipped to City 18.

2014. Being shipped to City 17. This is the life... If you can't beat them, join them. Better than living a life of fear.
