1. How long have you been a part of Vortex Roleplay?

I joined Vortex about one or two months ago.

2. What would you generalize to be your total playtime on Vortex?

My overall playtime on Garry's Mod since I made my first application for Vortex was at a total of 1175 hours. Now after playing at least 5 out of 7 times a week only on this server, I have a total of 1322 hours.

3. How long have you been roleplaying in general?

I have played many variations of Roleplay including semi-serious to serious DarkRP, MetroRP, and 1942RP. At least 3/4 of my time spent on Garry's Mod has been from RP, and I am still earning more hours as I play on Vortex.

4. Do you consider yourself to be efficient at roleplaying?

I believe I am not perfect, but good enough to be recognized for the way I roleplay with others. I know what is correct from what is wrong when it comes to an RP situation, and I know how to roleplay accordingly using proper grammar and appropriate dialogue.

3. Why do you want to be a part of our Metropolice Force?

I would like to keep my position on the Metropolice Force because I believe I am a loyal and dedicated player who enjoys the Roleplay aspects of an MPF officer. My character has never gone rogue, and I myself do not "minge" around when roleplaying as much as I have seen other officers do.

4. Have you read all of the Informative Guidelines?
These are the tips at the top of the application.

Yes, I have.

5. What have you learned from the application guidelines?

Something new that I have learned from the application guidelines is that if you are caught or killed as a rogue unit, you may have your whitelist removed. Also, it is recommended to patrol in teams and not by yourself, unless no other units are present.

6. There are a total of ___ informative guidelines.

There are a total of 20.

7. Did you read and study the Metropolice Force Guide?

Yes, I have read and studied the updated Metropolice Force Guide.

8. What does 10-4 mean?

10-4 is a response to another command. It usually means "Okay", "Yes", or "Copy".

9. What does 11-22a mean?

11-22a stands for light contraband such as non-UU approved food items.

10. List the weapons you'd be allowed to checkout at the following rank: 03, Second Tier.

At the rank 03 Tier 2, you are allowed to checkout an MP7 Sub-Machine Gun, a standard USP Match, and a flash and smoke grenade. These must be ID Locked to ensure no citizens or anti-citizens may use them.

11. Give an example of a moderate contraband item.

An example of a moderate contraband item would be a radio device, or a simple 9mm pistol.

12. What is the level of crime for having possession of a moderate contraband item?
What would the punishment be for that level of crime?

Possession of a moderate contraband item is a level three crime, and is punishable with 2-3 cycles in detainment and 4-6 penalty points.

13. How does the standard breach and clear protocol work?

The official breach and clear protocol begins with a full team of four MPF officers. The highest ranking unit takes position at least 5 feet away from the front of the door, and they are known as the Team Leader. The Team Leader calls out the command, "Stack!", and all other units get into position as either Breacher, Pointman 1, or Pointmant 2. The Breacher stands to the left of the door while Pointman 1 and Pointman 2 stand to the right with Pointman 2 behind Pointman 1. The Team Leader will then call out the command, "Prep!", and the units will ready their weapons, and the Breacher will aim at the door handle or get ready to kick/blow it down. Once all units are ready, the Team Leader will yell "Inject!". The Breacher will open the doorway for Pointman 2 to enter first while Pointman 1 follows closely behind. Pointman 2 has to swing around and clear the right side of the room while Pointman 1 goes straight in to clear the left. Once the units call "Cleaned!" or "Clear!", the Team Leader and Breacher may enter if they choose to do so.

14. What districts/areas are you allowed to enter at all times?

The districts/areas that MPF units are allowed to enter at all times are districts 1-5. These include the plaza and the residential areas surrounding it.

15. What districts/areas are you only allowed to enter under certain circumstances? List the circumstances for each area.

Units are allowed to enter The Grizzly Grotto if they are responding to a call, and they may also enter Shell Beach if it is open for citizens at that time.

16. Which districts/areas are you never allowed to enter, period?

Units are not allowed to enter District 6 which is the industrial/slum areas with the sewers.

17. At what rank are you allowed to leave the nexus?

A unit with the rank 05 or higher may leave the Nexus. 05's are only allowed to leave if they have a partner.

18. What action do you take in the following situation:
You happen to be in the plaza, and an armed citizen is firing a pulse-rifle everywhere. Citizens are screaming, a few officers are down, and the situation isn't looking good.

The moment I am aware of the situation, I would radio in for backup and/or request a Judgement Wavier due to the downed officers. If the Judgement Waiver was activated, I would safely escort any citizens to the UCH and proceed to clamp it while the OTA deal with the situation. If the Judgement Waiver was not activated, I would have to take cover and wait for reinforcements. I would first make it my priority to make sure all citizens are out of harms way, and make sure my fellow units are not injured. If there was a clear line of sight to the armed citizen, I would fire either my MP7 or my USP Match to maim or incapacitate them. If I was lucky enough to take them down, I would proceed with detainment protocol or amputate them if they continued to cause havoc.

19. Explain the ten step process of properly detaining someone. It's on the guide.
Do not copy and paste.

1. Once the criminal is spotted, radio in the 10-20 and move towards their location.
2. Make the citizen face the nearest wall.
3. Tie and search the citizen, and make sure to ask if they would like to resist in OOC.
4. Make the citizen apply, and view their data to find out if they are a BOL or anti-citizen.
5. If they have a BOL or they are an anti-citizen, radio in for assistance.
6. Decide what punishments they will receive and how many points will be added to their data.
7. If they require cycles, return them to the Nexus jail and imprison them. Also make sure to stay with them for the duration of their "visit".
8. When the time is up, make the citizen face a wall.
9. Knock out the citizen with your stunstick.
10. Bring the citizen outside the Nexus, let them stand up, untie them, and set them free.

20. How does division ranking advancement work?

Division ranking advancement starts with the unit becoming a Recruit or RCT. The RCT, once promoted, chooses their division of choice and is now an 05. Ranking is based on an 05-01 scale. The closer the unit is to 01, the higher rank they are unless that unit is in another Tier. Once the unit reaches 01 and is promoted, they may choose to either become an OfC of that Tier, or move on to the next. The next Tier is simply a repetition of the 05-01 scale. If the unit chose to become an OfC, they may continue to become a CmD. If the unit then decides that they do not wish to be an OfC or CmD and they want to move on to the next Tier, then they must step down to 02 of that Tier. At Tier 3, the unit may choose to become a SAVAGE Unit and be allowed to train other units. At Tier 4, a unit may only continue to rise up to OfC, CmD, and/or DvL if the spot is available.

21. At which rank are you allowed to authorize Judgement Waivers?

You are allowed to authorize Judgement Waviers once you are Tier 2 or higher.

22. Which of the following situations would require a Judgement Waiver? Mark [Yes] or [No] next to each situation.

• A Metropolice Unit or City Administrator is murdered by a rogue unit or anti-citizen: [YES]
• An anti-citizen fires a weapon anywhere within the city: [YES]
• Unarmed Anti-Citizens are sighted or reported: [NO]
• An uprising, or other form of rebel propaganda takes place: [YES]
• A Metropolice Unit is assaulted WITHOUT a firearm: [NO]

23. What rank are you allowed to use a pistol at?

You are allowed to use the standard USP Match 9mm Pistol once you are an 04 or higher. The Magnum however, is only allowed for units in Tier 3.

24. What happens if you use a pistol before this rank?

If you are caught using a pistol before you are the appropriate rank of 04, you will receive two blackmarks.

25. Do you understand how to use our Advanced Viewdata?

Yes, I understand how to use it.

26. What happens if you go rogue and get caught?

If you are caught as a rogue unit, you will have your character Perma-Killed and your whitelist will be removed.

27. Do you understand not to argue with other players?

Yes, I understand.

28. What should you do if you find yourself in a disagreement with other players?

If I am in a disagreement with another player, I would not antagonize them, and I would call an admin using @ or with a steam/private message.

29. What are your past experiences in the Metropolice Force?

My experiences as a true Metropolice Force officer have come from my time as NOMAD on this server alone. I have been an officer of the law for some other semi-serious to serious Roleplay Servers as well.

30. Why should we accept your application?

I believe that my application should be accepted because I am a loyal and active rule-abiding roleplayer who is able to roleplay accordingly in serious situations.

31. Why should we accept your application over other player's applications?

As I had stated before, I am very active and I have not broken any rules that I am aware of in my time as a Metropolice Force officer. I have much more experience now since I have started playing on Vortex, and I believe I can only keep on improving. I have a loyal character who will not go rogue unlike many other of my companions have, and I am ready to keep enforcing the will of the Universal Union.

32. What happens if you do not stay in-character, or try to mess-around and simply void it afterwards?

If I proceed to mess-around, stay out of character, and void my actions afterwards, my whitelist will be removed.

33. Do you tend to complain a lot?

No, I do not tend to complain to other players and admins alike. If I have an issue, I like to either keep it to myself or resolve it peacefully.

34. Do you have any close friends who play on the server, that could recommend you?

I believe that I do have some friends that would support my application. I have made many friends while playing on Vortex, and I would like to continue to get to know more of the community.

35. Can you passively roleplay, using detailed actions?

Yes, I can.

36. Do you have a basic knowledge and understanding of Half-Life 2 lore?

Yes, I do.

37. How active are you on the server?

Since I first started playing on this server, I have been on at least 5-7 times a week, and I now have a total of 1322 hours out of the 1175 I started with since I joined. I hope to be more active as summer is coming up, but you never know what might happen.

38. How well can you follow instructions?

I believe that I am able to follow instructions very well.

39. Do you plan on being a loyal player?

My character and I are already loyal to both of our residing communities. My character is loyal to the Universal Union, while I am loyal to the Vortex Community.

- Give an example of your own personal passive roleplaying using the /me command.
Note: Give an example that represents the level of detail you use on average. For example, don't type a paragraph for walking across a floor unless you actually plan to use that amount of detail in game.

/me flicks his stunstick off of medium power and clips it back on to his tool belt while swinging his MP7 around and aiming it at the anti-citizen in front of him.

Status (Loyalist, Civil Worker's Union, or Citizen?): Citizen

Mother's Full Name: Claire Johnson

Character Backstory: Avery "Junior" Johnson was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 1st, 1986. He lived with his parents until he was fourteen, and then he was forced to relocate with his mother to City 49. At a young age, Avery was forced to support his mother who had contracted the flu. She was on the verge of dying, and the city was in distress from recent rebel attacks. The Combine broke into their apartment, but because of the amount of loyalist points he had gained for picking up garbage, the head officer leading the raid spared the two some medicine. Avery looked into the dark hollow eye sockets of the officer's mask and was instantly motivated to be a part of the MPF. The city fell, and everyone was evacuated to City 17. After his mother died of old age, Avery Johnson has been an honest citizen under the establishment set up in City 17, and is now looking for work so he may repay other loyal citizens for their good deeds, and punish any who defy the law.
