[ACCEPTED] Judge's MPF Application Empty [ACCEPTED] Judge's MPF Application

APPLICATION:

1. How long have you been on the server?

I have been a player on the server for one day.
[Edit]: Three 24/hour cycles.

2. Do you know how to properly role-play?

Indeed, I know how to role-play and I personally believe I am quite adaptable to any role-play situation. I am fully capable of role-playing passively, and I often do so by myself when others are not even around me. I do this to immerse my imaginative mind into the Half-Life 2 universe, as well as immerse others when they pass by me and and see ambient dialogue around them, making them feel as if they truly live within a living city, even if it is oppressed.

3. Why do you want to join the Metro-police Force?

Why do I want to join the Metro-police force? I want to join the Metro-police force to put my role-play skills to the test. While casually role-playing many people do not get major thrill's, although they do endure a large amount of character development. I believe that if I become a member of the MPF I can bring exciting and thrilling role-play to others.  I am a firm believer in gradual progression and I wish to let City 17 citizens witness that MPF are also human, at least early on. Civilians will witness the un-nerved Rct. Eurell as he progresses through the ranks slowly, starting nervous but potentially becoming a true representation of Combine Supremacy.
Why does Judge Eurell want to become a MPF officer? Some could say he wants to live a slightly easier life, having access to a form of self-defense and more rations. Perhaps he is in awe of the might that the MPF possesses. Perhaps Eurell even wants power. Does he? Eurell does not actually know what his reasoning may be, but he thinks it could potentially be a feeling of belonging. Eurell wants to feel as if he fits in somewhere, a closely knit perfectionist empire that believes in strict discipline. Or maybe he just wants to protect the average citizen from themselves and the rebels.

4. Have you read all of the application guidelines?

I have read the application guidelines very thoroughly. Each bullet-point of the guidelines is re-read as I make my application in order to ensure perfection and depth.

5. What have you learned from the application guidelines?

I have learned that answers within my application must be long and well thought out. I have learned this so well that it may lead to regret as my application reaches extreme lengths. I ensure that most people will not even wish to read my application due to my depth. I apologize for the amount of depth that will be present, but I cannot help it. It is within my nature.

6. Did you read and study all of the Metro-police Force guides?

I have studied all of the MPF guides in great detail. Due to having RPed as an MPF member in another community long ago, I can assure that I have great knowledge within this field. I already know many of the radio-commands due to my prior knowledge. Until every line of the different MPF guides (only one available as of current) is memorized, the guides will be open within a tab on my second monitor.

7. Give an example of something that you learned from a Metro-police Force Guide.

I learned about the multi-tiered rank system within the guide. I also learned about the multiple divisions within the MPF. These being Patrol, Science/Engineering, medical, stealth, judicial, and bio oriented. I learned of the rank system starting as RCT and then going from ranks "5" to "1". I have also learned that Orion is the fourth tier. Within the guide I have also read that utmost maturity is to be expected.

8. What do you do in this situation. You walk into the plaza, and an armed citizen is firing a weapon everywhere. Citizens are screaming, and it isn't looking good.

(Due to not having an assigned Unit Name, I will refer to my character as Eurell within this segment.)
Eurell enters the plaza during his assigned rounds as he hears ammunition being let off in seemingly random directions. Eurell is very used to the sound by this point in his career and he radio's in for backup.
"11-49, 10-20 Plaza. Requesting assistance."
Two units radio in a response.
"10-2, en-route."
Eurell draws his issued pistol and peeps around the corner of a dumpster that he had been using as cover. Within his right eye, Eurell notices an oddly dressed figure holding a non-government rifle. The weapon looks crude but more than lethal. The anti-citizen seems to be firing to clear the plaza. Units arrive to regroup with Eurell in order to strategize an effective plan before things get deadly. Eurell swiftly returns to cover.

9. Explain the ten step process of properly detaining someone. It's on the guide.

1) The first step to detaining an individual is to spot them and survey the area, followed by moving to their position. I would first tell the citizen to stop what they are doing and radio in that there is a disturbance.
2) Second, I would order the individual to face the wall. If they comply, I would move onto the next step. If the individual denies my order, I would draw my stun baton and prepare to strike. If the individual resists strongly I would request for backup.
3) Thirdly, I would attempt to tie up the citizen. This would be done through a "/me" with an attempt. After typing the "/me" I would type; ".// Resist?". If the individual does not resist I would move to the next step. If they do I would use my stun-baton to lessen the resistance. If there is severe resistance I would radio for backup.  During this step (or even after step 4) I would search the citizen.
4) The fourth step is to order the citizen to apply. If the citizen does know what this means I would inform them it is their name and citizen ID number. I would use "/viewdata after using a /me" and I would view their record. If they are not in an extreme position, I would simple add their offense. If they are a serious offender I would proceed to step 5. If they are not I would move on to step 6.
5) If necessary, step 5 is to call for backup, provided the individual is an anti-citizen. After this step I would move on to step 6.
6) Step  6 is to determine and carry out the punishment the citizen has earned. Examples of this are re-education, amputation, and detainment. For detainment I would move on to step 7.
7) Step 7 would be to transport the individual to their cell for detainment. After the citizen has been put in their detainment cell I would remain with them. I would remain with them, but outside of the cell. I would not enter the cell unless the citizen does an action deserving of more punishment, such as trying to craft a crude weapon within the cell. After this point I would move on to step 8.
8) Step 8 is to order the individual to face a call wall in order to transport them to freedom. At this point I would continue to step 9.
9) Step 9 is to knock the citizen unconscious with my stun-baton. This would be role-played using "/me" and asking if the citizen resists with ".//". I would then proceed to the final step.
10) For step 10 I would drag the body of the citizen to the city's perimeter and set them free. I would wait for the citizen to regain their consciousness before untying them using "/me". This would complete the detainment process.

10. Did you read the Division Ranking Guide?

I have indeed read the Division Ranking Guide. I learned about the Patrol, Science, Medical, Stealth, Judicial,  and Bio divisions. I also learned that ranking starts as RCT and then goes from 5 to 1. I also learned that the SAVAGE division is available to any unit at the third tier of any division.

11. Do you understand not to argue with other players?

I understand that I should not argue with other players, but rather attempt to quell an argument peacefully. If an argument is too difficult to diffuse I would simply exit the area. If this does not work then admin contact may be necessary.

12. What should you do if you find yourself in a disagreement with other players?

If I find myself in a disagreement with another player, I will first attempt to diffuse the situation peacefully. I feel a situation should never occur over role-play, and if it does it should end quickly. I find it easy to P2L as it seems to be the most thrilling to me. Generally I will allow myself to lose a situation unless an opposing individual begins to power-game. I believe in fair role-play and if kept to such, I feel an issue should never occur. If a situation remains heated and will not quell then I will contact an admin and remain silent until they arrive.

13. Past MPF experiences?

Around half a year ago I was a member of the MPF of another server. I managed to go about half way through the ranks before I left the community. I will not name the community or why I left, but I am willing to give the details through SteamIM.

14. Why should we accept your application?

I believe my application should be accepted because I am extremely mature and my goal is to create a very entertaining and thrilling experience from other players. My experience allows me to make minimal mistakes within the faction, allowing for the expected role-play skill from the MPF to still be top tier.

15. Why should we accept your application over other player's applications?

I would begin by stating there is no reason not to pick another player's application over mine if the other individual put optimal effort into their application. I feel all applicants have different skill sets and needs to be evaluated based on what is needed. I feel that my area of expertise is a lack of selfishness but rather a desire to be fair and just. I wish to make the optimal experience for other players to help expand the server.

16. Do you tend to complain a lot?

I personally believe that I complain minimally, if at all. The only time I believe another player would see me as high in complaints is if I am constantly telling people to stop using mass ".//" and actually role-play.  This is all based on perspective, however.

17. Do you have any close friends who play on the server, that could recommend you?

Due to the nature of my role-play I do not have any close friends obtained through the server. I do plan on inviting many close friends though. I do not believe those who I invite are valid for recommending me due to the knowing me for a long time, however.

18. Can you passive role-play, in detail?

I am fully capable of passive role-playing in detail. I role-play even when I am alone so that passing players can feel as if they are within an actual living, breathing world. I feel as if I used to be known for overly role-playing passively due to my inclusion of lots of detail, honestly.

19. Do you have a basic knowledge and understanding of Half-Life 2 lore?

I have a moderate to advanced understanding of Half-Life 2 lore due to the HL series being one of my favorites. I have researched this subject exponentially, however I do need to refresh myself in many areas.

20. How active are you on the server?

I am very active on both the server and the forums, despite having arrived one day ago. I plan to remain active until the community shuts down, even if I am old before then.

21. Do you plan on being a loyal player?

I am a person who will not begin something he cannot finish. In my mind it would have been a huge waste of time to join Vortex if I planned on leaving soon. I guarantee I will remain loyal. Besides, this application is taking years to type. I might as well remain since I will be obtaining arthritis when I am done.

CHARACTER INFORMATION:

Name:  Judge Eurell
Age:  18
Gender: Male
Height:  6"0'
Status (Loyalist, Civil Worker's Union, or Citizen?): Citizen
Loyalist Points: Zero

Mother's Full Name: Gerri Eurell

Father's Full Name:
Mike Eurell

Previous locations of residence before city seventeen: Ohio, City 17 was Eurell's first relocation.

Character Backstory:

Eurell had a passion for many things. Reading, aiding others, and now that he thought about it, protecting those in need. How did I get here, Eurell thought. One moment Eurell was simple cleaning the street as volunteer work when his city was invaded. Futuristic trucks drove down the road like a breeze, their engines propelling them at extreme speeds. Eurell laughed to himself, isn't the speed limit thirty-five here? Things began getting odd though. Gunships flew through the sky in the same direction as the trucks. This was a medium sized city, not New York. There is nothing of interest here for the military, why come here? Bobbing mechanical tech began to swarm the city like angels falling from heaven -- if angels beeped and took your photo. Soon the nearby forest rustled with uniformed men in gas-masks. Eurell found himself down on the ground, blue eyes gazing down on him. The only thing Eurell could hear with the buzzing of electricity from stun-batons.

The truck drove down the road at high speeds, it must be something like one-hundred-twenty miles-per-hour. The truck didn't even feel like it had wheels. The truck bounced very rarely. It felt as if the vehicle glided over every object in the road.  The back of the truck was packed with many civilians. Some people Eurell knew, some he didn't. Still, nobody spoke. It seemed to float through the air that nobody would live a normal life again. Little did everyone know their drinks would cause memory loss and children would never be birthed. Humanity wasn't even on its last legs. Humanity was on crutches. Eventually the towering presence of City 17's citadel loomed above everyone.

Residents of the old city that was escorted in the truck were given a buzz-cut and a blue jumpsuit. Complimentary luggage cases were provided. Within each was a second jumpsuit, a bag of stale food, and a couple cans of water, obviously tampered with. A one-hundred token slip was also provided. The city was extremely militarized. Gas-masked units stood at every corner, scanners buzzing through the sky. Odd aliens in bindings swept the streets. Life began anew for every spirit in the truck. But once everyone arrived here, did their spirit survive?
